My bedroom.

I'm very into soft pinks and nudes lately and...

this is my favourite blouse and...

this my favourite scarf
and..
I really need to clear out the bedroom, later maybe :^)
My wardrobe some time ago.

Issue 3 of Making Do is about
creating a new planet.
I've bought mine in Brussels, but you can order the zine here.
There's also this funny video.

Something soft.

New cushion in greys, soft greens, coral and raspberry pink;
the photo in the first picture comes from Ana.
More works and photographs from Ana here.

The second picture is a remnant of the photoshoot I did
a few days ago, and the photo of the thistle fluffs below date
from here...
that's recycling too :)

Sweet dreams :)

Millefleurs & more treasures.

For some time I've planned to make a series of embroideries
on the theme 'Gardens', inspired by the famous millefleurs
tapestries - meaning thousand flowers - which were woven here
in Flanders in the Middle Ages.
The best known and also my favourite are the
' Lady and the Unicorn' tapestries in the Museé de Cluny in Paris,
really wonderful!

But so far, this project's only a fantasy, something for later, when
I will have oceans of time, maybe :)
So, in the meantime, I've made this temporary Thousand Flowers carpet,
or better Trash Carpet from the treasures I've found on my walks
or here at my house, including a core of a pear and a plum stone.
And after this playtime, I trew everything in a bowl and then in
the dustbin.
End.

note: Mille Fleur is also a breed of Belgian chicken :^)
and the best bay boletes have the size of a champagne cork!

Goodnight & Sweet Dreams :)

Grasses.

I'm crazy about grasses lately, so I bought some for the terrace,
dreaming of a prairie garden, ha!
Those on the photo were picked in Hoboken polder, I've put
them in a vase, together with some thousand-leaf and
chocolate cosmos from the flowerbed.

( there's also a pigeon on the roof :)

Mieke & the funny mushroom :^)

The weather was wonderful last couple of days, 27°C
so I was sitting on the terrace doing some crochet; this one is with
soft pinks and creams, a few blues and a fluo orange spot
in the right corner; I'm planning to make one more with
one fluo green spot.

A walk in the woods.

I went to the woods today with friends and family, hunting for
mushrooms; despite the warm weather of recent days, we still
found quite a lot of bay boletes and some porcini mushrooms;
but everyone's darling was the one with the peachcoloured belly
and brown velvet hat :^)
have a closer look here!

goodnight!

soft greys with flashy spots, a summer cushion :)

My treasures.

This is a small selection of twigs and seeds that I've brought
home from my walks: thistle fluffs, a plane tree seed pod,
a bunch of ash seeds and one pod I can't put a name on;
the tiny seeds are hairy with barbs.
The third picture was taken from my terrace, the handwoven
piece of cloth is as far as I can remember honeysuckle :)
I'm not joking, look here!
More treasures in another post.

Yesterday's walk.

Hoboken polder near Antwerp is my favorite place
to walk, especially in spring or late summer;
the light was wonderful yesterday evening.
But...

I'm seriously thinking to sign in for volunteer work so I can
help to clean up the waste;
doesn't matter whether I collect herbs & mushrooms
or an empty beer can & a yellow ufo, as long as I can
enjoy my collecting instinct everything is fine :^)
Though I do not understand what people drives
to leave their garbage in such an idyllic place like this.

Mieke on the second picture.

Made more apple jelly, but I've added a handful of lavender
flowers this time.
