No title.

Sometimes It happens that I can't get a clear picture
from what I want to communicate; for example
these vague stonelike shapes at the bottom
of the embroiderie, i wanted something white in white,
but I can't decide yet what these are gonna be, i'm changing
my mind every other minute, I think it will be better to put
this one aside instead of racking my brain about it .
I know from experience time will bring a solution, don't have
to force anything.

That's me on the second pic, I guess about 25,
don't remember what I was making either :-)

have a nice weekend!

  3. To leave it is good. But it looks very beautiful and pretty ready just as it is, just like you in the photo.

  5. this piece of embroidery is truly amazing! i love it's rawness. sometimes i think it's best to work without a plan and let shapes be what they will be...

  6. I love your work! It's wonderful just as it is, but I know what you mean - it needs to feel right and finished in order to leave us be! and that photo of you is just brilliant! Have a great weekend. xo

  7. I love that photo of you so much. so candid, and so natural.

I know what you mean, time will tell, but I am too impatient so many times.

  8. I love that photo too- i really treasure that focused concentration- I think its just what happens in your work- I love the way you use the 'old' to explore 'new forms' still unnamed and not totally recognised-but there to be eventually discovered- how exciting! Beautiful piece here-

  9. super die foto van jou, heel erg mooi, en ook nog wel een beetje herkenbaar. Ik vind je naaiwerk nu al leuk, zomaar, niet alles hoeft betekenis te hebben.

  10. that is a gorgeous photo of you and I love your lamp!
I know what you mean, having an idea, a feeling, but finding it hard to bring it into being. it's easy to become frustrated when this happens, so its good to come back to it when a little time has passed.

  11. Sometimes it's fun to let a design evolve as you're making it - I love the feeling when it all works out... but yes, sometimes we just need to think about it and hope it'll come to us ;) It's a lovely piece and that photo is just gorgeous :) K

  18. dag renilde. je bent echt de mooiste!

  19. Renilde. In huis. En het groeit. Niemand kan voorspellen wanneer.
Ik kijk al uit naar het resultaat. Maar ik heb geduld.

  33. I just noticed...is it the back of the work in the last picture? if that so you are a MASTER OF EMBROiDERY, no jocking...never saw anything so clean ... is the back that tells how a piece is a piece of art!!!

  34. to casita: i don't have supernatural powers!!
maybe i only mirrored the image? :-)

  35. Your work is always so subtle, so just right - not too much, not too little. No surprise you ponder over the final touch of near-white. But I'm happy to learn you have the same approach as I (try to have). Let time take care of it, it works out. You look so beautiful in that picture::)

  36. I love your work, just as it is, and what a beautiful B/W photo. Says it all !

  37. It's such a subtle, lovely piece. It reminds me of some Cy Twombly work for some reason. Gorgeous.

  38. good morning Renilde. the photo of you is hauntingly beautiful, haunting in the best way. and the embroidery work is absolutely wonderful (those words sound so stupid). fantastic (oh english).

but "true" is a great word, and fitting for you and your work.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ah Renilde, I'm sure the back is clean anyway...
I didn't noticed you mirrored the image!!! you pixie!

  40. i love that embroidery. the white-on-white parts look mysterious, and i like that.

that photo is gorgeous. how come we don't do square format with white borders so much for prints? it's perfect.
