Camera obscura.

Funny tiny lightspots appear all over the
place on sunny days; I once have read in a
sciencebook for children that these bright discs are
formed by little holes in the leafage of a tree for example,
and that they're in fact projections of the sun; so, after
I was intoduced by this phenomenon, I started to
search for these spots everytime I had a walk in the woods,
however, to my regret, I have never met any on my
expeditions :-)
Now they come popping up with hundreds in my
appartment, thanks to my Wisteria, who acts, when the
sun is shining as a camera obscura.
I was working on some kind of smyrna-sun too this weekend,
with coloured solar spots , and if you look closer you can see
an unexpected protuberance too :-)

The word in the middle means 'pyjama party'

Tomorrow sunny again,
Sleep well :-)

Building a kitchen.

This isKatleen's kitchen; I love the shelf she made,
with those nice plexi sliding doors.

Today she started building me a kitchen;
we are halfway now but the result is Wow :-)
Photos later.

Heart-shaped supermarket love potato :-)

Happy weekend everbody!

Reparation day.

I had to carry out some repairs today, you know,
the usual stuff, sewing on some buttons, replacing a zipper
that doesn't work anymore etc... not really exciting.
Too bad this gorgeous 1950 sewing storage is not mine,
I saw it by accident on aapc today,
you can have a bid if you like on ebay and
see more photos.
Isbells was on the radio, love this song :-)
Another cushion.

Some of my objectives are...

... finding a convenient arrangement for my boxes
and stuff; I feel stressed by too much junk;
boxes full of textiles, wools, papers, trash and stuff
that only needs a finishing touch.
It is hard to decide what to do first :-(
So...

...my plan is to complete one cushion a week, do you
remember this one?
I still have three to go :-)
And than...

... I hope to get my mind free so I can continue my
' Age of Discovery' and 'Wormhole' projects :-)
That's my plan.

Tomorrow I will start with the redecoration of my
new home, the moving will be half May I guess :-)

All Fools' Day.

This is not an April Fools' joke :-), I got that fortune
cookie from Mieke some weeks ago, but I waited
till today to bring this message into the open, I
want it to work!
But I'm not complaining, I had a fine day, apart
from the fact that I felt a bit flu-ish.
The grey cushion is my favourite so far, love these
bright colors on the soft greenish-grey ground,
the yellow spot is almost fluo and the green in
the middle is metallic like a beetle, too bad that
I couln't catch the right colours, maybe i should buy
a solid camera instead of my automatic toy, or
learn photoshop...

I was also working on another yellow one, hope
to finish it before the weekend.
By the way, I can be madly in love with my table
sometimes :-)

Happy April everybody!

Some stripes.

Some more linen samples in plain weave; I sorted
out the striped ones for this post.
The crocheted detail is a cushion.
from the same series as Traditional Japanese Small Motif.
I will show more photos in another post.
Have a nice weekend everybody :-)

fruitbowl.

I worked on some cushions today, they all need
a lining, this one looks pretty art deco, I mean the
colours.
The little painting on the wall is made by
Ruth Van Haren Noman.
more photos here.

Have a nice weekend everybody!

Giveaway.

Do you remember my wardrobe clean-up?
Well, i found this beret in my closet, i made one
for a friend some years ago and wanted a copy
for myself, problem is i never wear berets :-)
So, this beret was supposed to be mine, it is brand-new
and made of red, marine and white cotton.
Size medium, i guess.

So,
In case you planned a hold up for this summer,
and you would like to do it in style, sign up for this beret
by leaving a comment.
I will pick one of you on Saturday 6th of February.
Happy Weekend all of you!

Winter.

I spend a large part of the day under my blanket,
drowsing, with a crate of clementines beside me.
Browsed through my new Gaudesaboos book.
It's an imaginary story about a childrens TV-character
that was very popular in the early sixties.
It is all fake, with manipulated
photos from the Belgian TV archives, but it looks very
real, at least all the merchandising.
It feels like winter started today, freezing cold,
they forecast snow for Tuesday :-)
Are you prepared well, is your roof sufficiently
insulated??
I did some extra croching!!

Briek Oranges.

I made this patchwork together with my mom,
it was my first one.

Briek Snowball.
Tuesday, remember!!!

Weird.

I made a copy of this cushion with an opening
on the back to have the possibility to fill it up,
but it started growing breadthways.
OK.
Hope my client likes it.

I'm still not sure my computer is ok now, he also
does weird things beyond my will.
Lets hope the best.
