test samples with ash glazes
I made a combination of smooth test plates and three dimentional rocky structures, cause the outcome of the glaze is to a large extent determined by the roughness of the surface;
I have also used both black and white clay, some samples are a combination of the two;
my next project will be a mixture of colored slips and ash glaze

love this pattern of a dried leaf,
found it between the pages of a book

I'm really excited what the outcome will be!

I made an artificial forest on the dresser this afternoon; the props were found and recycled objects from the thrift, wax models, clay exercises and tryouts with ash glazes, a tinder, a geode and some pieces of ordinary stone and fake stones in clay...
I love to make thumbnail little rocks lately, don't know why, I guess a passing thing :)

I started a set of teacups.
I want them to pile nicely, a bit like a sculpture;
I used foam balls and light bulbs covered with an old pantyhose to shape the bowls; some are colored with a gray slib
I still don't know what glaze I'm going to use...

glazing takes time and the possibilities are infinite...
and the end result is always a surprise :)
I'm very into khaki and bottle green lately, especially in combination with pink;
the small bowl above has a glaze with copper oxide

happy weekend all!
